What Happens in Vegas

Ooh honey, I love you so much let's stop right in the walkway and have us a romantic little kiss...sigh

Hey mom, aren't these the cutest little grapes? I wonder where they got these. They'd be so much fun to put in the kids' lunchboxes as a surprise!

Wow take a picture it'll last longer.

Shhh! Don't tell Randy he might be jealous. I love M&M's and green is my favorite color.

We went to Terry Fators Show but my camera is kind of sucky, (or maybe it's the person aiming the camera), so I didn't get any good pictures of him. He is a rare entertainer and allows you to take as many photos during his show as you like! The person that you can barely see behind the desk is his DJ. Great Show! This guy, Terry, not the DJ, is a ventriloquist, comedian and singer all rolled into one . If you've never heard of him like I hadn't (I don't watch reality TV) he won America's Got Talent sometime in the past :) BTW the DJ is a great dancer!

Wonder if I can get my camera on and aimed before they realize they are holding up traffic?

We walked up to Bellagio after Terry Fator and watched the water show that is choreographed to music. Amazing and beautiful.

While we were in Vegas Michael Jackson passed away. Haven't been to impressed with him the last 5 or 10 years but... he was a good singer and who wasn't impressed with the moonwalk? I also liked Thriller. The Wax Museum next to the Venetian had this memorial set up for him. We were there soon after they started this and I imagine by the end of the day there were a lot more flowers and gifts.Okay got the picture. Geesh! They must be on their honeymoon or something! Hopefully they will come up for air soon!

Look at all these umbrellas! And of course the lovely ladies. Brenda is thinking about investing in a few umbrellas to hand out to people she shares a meal with :0. You are safe if you're not sitting across the table from her when she is eating a cherry tomato!

We went to In and Out....are you jealous? Mmmm.... yummy, it was quite tasty .

We walked a thousand miles today, Barbara can't you just chill and let us relax! I'm sure the Shulsen's were thinking I was a brat :0. I wanted to go and they wanted to rest before lunch. We can rest when we get home...let's go!

Finally after a good 2 minutes they came up for air! I could not believe that someone over the age of 19 would stop in the middle of a busy walkway and make out! Brenda and Marilyn were in the restroom so they missed it and if Mel saw it she was to polite to mention it. Me? I'm not polite, LOL

On the way home we stopped at Cove Fort which is located midway between Cedar City and Fillmore, Utah. It was an interesting bit of Utah history and free! I always like free :)

Bliss or Torture?

I'm getting ready for a girls road trip this weekend :). The oldest daughter and I and her mother and sister-in-law are driving to Las Vegas with a stop in St. George to see some family. One of the things I NEEDED to do was to get a pedicure. I love getting pedicures...sort of. I like the chair massage, the leg rub, the foot massage...ooh the foot massage! I've died and gone to heaven! I like the way my toes look with the fresh polish. How patriotic.

BUT... I hate it when they use that scrubber thing in the bottom of my feet! It tickles!! It makes me squirm and grit my teeth, which kind of hurt since I had that surgery last week :(. Aah! but my legs and feet are so soft right now and I feel pampered. The other thing I need to do is go visit Julia, my hairdresser. I have at least an inch and a half of regrowth that is looking pretty gray. I'm not old enough to be gray.... tee hee, okay so maybe I am but that doesn't mean I have to live with it :0. So it's off to see Julia and then Las Vegas here we come!

How to lose 2 pounds in one day

No, I haven't been "hitting the bottle"

Yesterday I had to go to an Oral surgeon and have my two lower wisdom teeth removed. First you don't eat for 8 hours before the procedure, which for me is VERY difficult. I get sick if I go more than about 4 hours between "feedings". Luckily I was scheduled for 8:20 am and they even got me in 10 minutes earlier than that, imagine not having to wait at a doctors office!! The surgery only took about 1/2 hour and went very well. I just hope that all the wisdom that I've gained over the years didn't leak out! I did have a bunch of packing in there to hold it in :0
So we got home and settled me in bed with pills and water nearby. We changed the packing and took some meds and then I laid down. Next time I moved 5 hours had gone by and I still hadn't had anything to eat and I didn't even feel hungry! So we medicated, changed the packing and I laid down again with a magazine to read....three hours later I woke up!

This is my private nurse and chauffeur. He is very handy to have around, he got me to the doctor on time, went and got my prescriptions filled and then spent the day checking on me, medicating me and changing the gross packing. If I would have been "sick" he would have taken care of that too. He even went to KFC to get me some mashed potatoes and gravy :) I really love this man! This morning I feel like I can go out and catch a yard sale two....we'll see how that goes, I may be overly optimistic.

Lagoon

Yesterday I went to Lagoon, which is a theme park, with my daughter Jen and her girls. This photo was taken after we rode the Rattlesnake Rapids. We got a little wet :0 . As we were coming to the big waterfall Olivia (the one with the grimace) started to get a little antsy, move over......MOve Over.....MOOOOVE OOOVER!!! She was yelling at her dear sweet gramma to move over so that I could get drenched instead of her! I swear I get no respect... lol.

Olivia loves having her picture taken, not. At least Ashley will smile :)

This is what I really wanted to ride but since I am a sweet gramma I just couldn't bring myself to chase off the little kids that could run faster than me. Soooo....

This is what I rode instead. Twice. If you knew me you would know how difficult that was. I get motion sick very easy and these chairs do nothing but swing out in a high circle, round and round and round.... It lasts forever and it is the longest ride at Lagoon. Okay maybe not the longest but it sure felt like it. Oh and if you go to Lagoon...

Watch out for hands that grab your legs under the stall in the bathroom! That Olivia!! Such a funny girl :o.

There is Sunshine in my Soul Today

Deep down I know we need the rain. After all we do live in the desert here. It feels like it has rained every single day for the last two weeks. I'm sure we've had a break or two but seriously I'm ready for the sun! Today there is sun :) Will it last all day? Oh please, please, please! I have mushrooms in my lawn....even if they were edible I still would not like having mushrooms in my lawn. I do not like mushrooms. Randy finally had to mow a wet lawn because it wouldn't quit raining long enough to dry. On the upside of that, our sprinklers have not had to be turned on which means a savings on the water bill. I like that :) Today is Sunday and the kids are coming for dinner. If the sun stays out and the rain stays away the 10 little Indians can run and jump and scream and holler outside instead of inside! Please Mr. Sun spend the day with us. Thank you in advance :)

This is Hansa Haus. It's a cabin up in the Huntsville area that is owned by my oldest daughters in -laws. It is so peaceful up there. The Cabin sits next to a bubbling creek and the birds sing all day. We spent the day there on Saturday and just chilled. Literally. It was a little cool for my blood, but I am not complaining! There was no TV, no internet, and my phone had no reception. I loved it! Adam is all boy, he loves anything sports so we "played" badminton. I threw the birdie, he smacked it and I chased it and then I threw the birdie....you get my drift :o. Anyone that he could sweet talk got to play the same game and he is a good sweet-talker!

Oh boy! Wouldn't it be funny if Uncle Shane fell into the creek and got all wet!? I'd better keep my hands in my pockets so I don't get blamed for that one. Gramma! Don't tell mom you caught me eating again!

Hey Gramma!! Wanna play badminton with me? I'll serve. Wes just started walking a week ago and now we can't hold him back! His favorite place to be? Outside, of course.

Sisters, sisters who love sisters...oh wait there's another one! I wonder where she is? Oh, there she is

Tripping the light fantastic inside with the girls. It's kind of a tradition in Brenda's family to do skits and entertain who ever is willing to be entertained. I think this was Mamma Mia.

This is Erica and her skit. The puppet in her left hand is a cat and the puppet in her right hand is a dog. Her skit went like this: This is a cat.... This is a dog.... This is the dog chasing the cat! She "chased" the cat around her body with the dog. It was pretty clever if you ask me :)

Kamber is such a ham. She loves to pose for the camera. Grandma S. is the instigator. She loves to play and perform with the kids. She's just a kid at heart herself. I think she'd make a great grade school teacher! Oh, that's right she is a teacher.

The judges. Ashley and Hailee are a lot tougher than they look. You had to get 15 points to move on to the next round. They liked the low numbers, but luckily we got to total the two together to get the final score so everyone made it to the next round including...

presto! chango! he's escaped from his handcuffs! The magician of the day. The all knowing Evan!
And finally the gorgeous fivesome. Olivia, Kamber, Hailee, Erica and Ashley. Wait! Kamber what is hanging off your lips!? You make your mother so proud. HAHAHA. I'm not sure who the recipient is of Ericas kiss...probably me :) I have the best grandkids in the whole wide world!

National Doughnut Day!

YUMMY!!

Today is National Doughnut Day and so I hurried my little self right on over to Dunford Bakers to get some doughnuts for my grandkids. Okay, I let my girls and Shane eat them too :) Dunford has, in my humble opinion, THE best doughnuts in the valley, maybe even in the whole U. S. of A. This box was for the non chocolate eaters at my youngests' house....still haven't figured out how we ended up with someone who doesn't like chocolate :|.

Kamber was pretty excited to get doughnnuts for breakfast on her last day of school! As you might be able to tell she lives in the no chocolate house :0. Whatever.
This was Brenda's box. She has the largest family so she got the biggest box. Now they like chocolate! Don't these look just so yummy!? What?? You can't decide which one you want? No problem.
You just take a knife and start cutting. That way you can have a piece of each one :). Brenda is the oldest and sometimes she is so smart, okay most of the time she is smart, but she is also blond :). I love my Brenda...Happy Birthday to her today.

Now this box went to Jen's place. These gals appreciate a good doughnut, better yet they are major chocoholics! So I had to throw in a container of Dunfords Brownie Bites. Mmm mmm yummy. Did I get a box for myself? DUH!!

As you can see I too am a chocoholic and I couldn't wait to take the picture, I had to have a bite the second I opened the box... LOL. Randy likes chocolate but his favorite doughnut is the maple bar. We both like apple fritters. Poor Randy will have to eat most of these. I only get a bite or two of mine :( . Good thing I only got 4 instead of a whole dozen! The sacrifices he has to make being married to a junk food junkie who's eyes and cravings are way bigger than her stomach.

Oops!

This is our Garage after the new panels were being put in. It used to be a dirty white. I'm still not used to this blogging business and as I was sitting and listening to the noise coming from outside it occurred to me that I could blog about it! The hubby had a meeting and as he pushed the button to close the door he heard an awful noise. Lo and behold the rivets popped and the top panel of our door was creased in half!

This is Daniel. He works for All State Garage Doors. He came out bright and early and tore down the old door and loaded it on top of his pick-up truck. Then he started putting together our new door. He did this all by himself! I am a weakling, I barely had the strength to help Randy take off the top panel the night it broke! I was probably in the way but you know a wife's gotta help...haha.

So the new garage is a sand color and no longer white. We are the only house in the neighborhood that doesn't have a white door on the garage now. So anyway I had to have our front door painted to match the garage to sort of "tie" it together. It was so much easier to take the door knob off than trying not to get paint on it.

So here's the house now with our new garage door and newly painted front door. Not bad if I do say so myself! :) Hmmm, I think I need some color in my front yard.....
